The Wikipedia entry for "New French Extremity" has an extensive bibliography which confirms that this area of filmmaking is a re-intersection of giallo, straight horror, porn (perhaps anti- or meta-, if one wants to downplay the exploitation aspects of the work).

What it doesn't have is an extensive filmography, so that when you read the FAR OUT essay you will be looking at a "ten essential" list that seems to be more than half the films that comprise the "genre." Most of the attempts to generalize about these films seem to be at least 10-15 year old, leading one to surmise whether or not this "movement" has, in fact, stopped moving.
