[EDIT: Carl and I are like ships that pass in the night. We do have some extra info about the extras—some of which will not make him happy...however, a 4K upgrade might be a reasonable compensation.]
NIGHTMARE ALLEY will get the Criterion treatment, with DVD and blu-ray releases hitting the street on May 25th. The featured essay will be by Kim Morgan, who staked out some expanse of territory by co-authoring the adaptation of Gresham’s novel that will be the basis for Guillermo Del Toro’s remake (currently expected to premiere in/around the Xmas season). Imogen Smith will also be on camera to expound on the film. The commentary track, however, features academicians Alain Silver and James Ursini.
The new print is a 4K upgrade, so regardless of whatever value is found in the “extras” we can expect that the film will look better than it ever has...
