It should also be noted that the co-writer for ADVENTURES IN VIENNA, Michael Kehlman, was just 25 when he collaborated with Reinert and veteran scenarist Franz Tassié, would quickly shift into a very prolific career as a director. While most of this work was in German television movies (including a 1961 remake of ADVENTURES IN VIENNA under the title JACK MORTIMER), there were several notable theatrically-released films as well, including DIE BRÜCKE DES SCHICKELS (1960), which appears to be a German variant on SHAKEDOWN, featuring German character lead Hannes Messemer in the Howard Duff role. Messemer first came into prominence as the German SS officer throwing his weight around in THE DEVIL STRIKES AT NIGHT (1957) and had a brief international career in the early-to-mid 60s.
