However, in his chapter on the novel, "I Married a Dead Man," he fails to mention “They Call Me Patrice,” which is the article in the magazine Today's Woman (April 1946) that provides the correct conclusion to Barbara Stanwyck's "No Man of Her Own." That is, contrary to Renzi, the conclusion of the film noir isn't derived from the subsequently published novel.
Weirdly, "They Call Me Patrice" has never been reprinted in an anthology of Woolrich's short stories.
