There is also a lot more Mexican noir than what the Morelia folks are recycling at various festivals. There seems to be a coterie in these countries who have siphoned off access to classic films in general, and uncovering the additional trove has been rendered very difficult as a result. There is no analogue to several of the French revival companies who've recaptured much of the independent film production (films not associated with Gaumont, Pathé and Canal) but who are not yet pushing their holdings into English-speaking markets.
