We've already eliminated Kill Bill from noir. I've got an old review in which I say "The story is juvenile. The characters behave in a juvenile way much of the time. The story has a comic book or fantasy element in it." This is another ground for rejecting it as noir.

When I search my reviews for the term "comic book" some other movies pop up. Some of these make their way onto neo-noir lists, some sci-fi, etc. The point is that I use the term "comic book" to suggest superficial, fantasy material, so that none of these films should be bothered with in a search for the better neo-noirs. We're going against the crowd in some cases here, like John Wick and Sin City.
