Warner Brothers tosses out a blu-ray collection of four well-known classics. For the sake of his blood pressure, Dan H. should skip Raymond Benson's primer on film noir in the linked article, but he may be amused to discover that his sometimes-nemeses Alain Silver and James Ursini were left uncredited on the packaging despite the presence of the audio commentaries they provided for two of the films (done years ago, of course, for the regular DVD releases). WB also stiffed good guy Glenn Erickson for his commentary on GUN CRAZY (hard to believe they didn't ask Eddie M. to do this one, but it doesn't look like they were in a money-spending mood for extras). They did manage to credit Martin Scorsese and Robert Wise for their commentaries--perhaps the other guys needed to provide their own directors' chairs in order to get WB's attention!
Benson indicates that the blu-ray transfers for these are first-rate, regardless of these other "irregularities"...
