Ben is wonderful, a distinct stylist. His album with Tatum was one of my first purchases. Clifford Brown and Max can be taken together I suppose. As a former trumpet player, I'm in awe of Brownie. Sonny Rollins could not be better in those albums around the time of Blue Seven and Way out West. Monk has to be there, as a player and composer and inspiration to break the bounds.
