I bow out of that process, simply due to incapacity to apply it, and precise quantification is what you are suggesting. I've already flagged 2 as bothersome to me as first-class neo-noirs, namely L.A. Confidential and There Will be Blood.

I've been thinking that the last 3 there are weaker (Frozen River, Wind River and Hell or High Water), but I need to rewatch 2 of these. There may well be stronger examples in the longer list.
