The neo-noir-o-meter dispensed with some of the check boxes as being applicable only to the classic period, and substituted others. Looking it over again, I think it also works best when one is able to quantify the elements via gradation as opposed to simple "yes/no" queries. I encourage you to dust it off and give it a spin.
But, as noted, let's at least pick one film from each list in terms of assessing neo-noir bonafides and re-evaluating a film's overall artistic success. We are also trying to determine if the films from the consensus list really deserve to be there in terms of quality--which I presumed was the primary task at hand.
