Perhaps ChiO has a better sense of what's actually afoot there--the disclaimers associated with the Music Box's "virtual screenings" are different from what I've seen for other venues around the country. They are currently featuring films from the KinoNow selections that the Roxie in SF and the AFI Silver Spring (the DC home of Noir City) have been screening, where a revenue split between distributor and theatre at least gets some income flowing in the theatre's direction, but it appears that their web interface is maybe a step or two behind those who are fully implementing the streaming capabilities that are in place at this point.
It's clearly a good time to get fully reacquainted with one's own DVD collection...
