The film he made while living in LA for ten years was not a noir. His other list (165 best American films of all time) is not conspicuously noir or neo-noir centric, though he continues to apparently believe that ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES is one of the greatest masterpieces of American cinema.
I didn't quantify the number of noirs/neos on the other list, but it appears to be around 10%--possibly as many as 20.
For our purposes, it would be useful to put those neo-noirs into the context of the lists for the past two decades. One could at least create a column in a spreadsheet that tracked the fact that these films were noted on the larger list...
