I think we're all with you on that, Mike. The number of films in need of restoration and re-release has shrunk over the years we've been here (to the point where even Eddie Muller might have to get past the 35 French noirs anointed as masterpieces and look for a way to dig into the true treasure trove of first-rate rare noir), but THE LONG WAIT is definitely one that deserves the attention of the FNF. Frank Planer gives us some indelible noir imagery. I'm guessing that the necessary elements for restoration have simply been impossible to come by.
Another film deserving of restoration--one that gets discussed now and then here as well--is BLACK TUESDAY.
