We have a metal works company in my community, Evans' Garage, that was started in 1918 and made a prototype of this ice cube tray for the inventor. Evans' is still in operation, and the son of the founder, a welder since age 7, just turned 95 and still works daily, either in their shop or sometimes in the field. The paper did a feature on him a couple years ago accompanied by a picture of him welding a beam at a Walmart under construction. When he could no longer manage the steps to the second story at the shop, he himself designed and built an elevator. (Unfortunately, this was mentioned in the newspaper article and the city made them shut it down because it wasn't up to standards.)
This weather vane still stands, a landmark in our community for almost a hundred years.
