Looks to me like the cook needs to neaten up his grill. I like mine all lined up, preferably at about a 30° angle to the grills soes you can roll them to turn and the grill marks spiral around the dogs.

I have been known to turn a sacrificial hot dog parallel to the grills to block the hot dogs if they are having a tendency to roll down hill on a not quite level grill.

But that's just me.
