On the bench this weekend - overkill

* 35th scale Academy USMC Desert Storm M-60A1 with Rise passive armor (new build from start)

* 72nd scale Hasegawa F-14D Tomcat VF-213 Black Lions last cruise (finishing it up - about 70% done)

* 72nd scale Fujimi F-14A Bombcat VF-154 Black Knights Millenium CAG bird (finishing it up - about 80% done). This is the old Fujimi "Ali Cat" kit reboxed with VF-41 Desert Storm markings. Decals are from the Hasegawa Black Knights kit (don't ask...).

* 700th scale Fujimi IJNS Kirishima (finishing it up - about 90% done)

* 700th scale Trumpeter USS Washington (finishing it up - about 60% done)

* Gene Valencia's Hellcat is drying after application of gloss coat. When I get home she'll be dry enough to mount the wheels, seat, stick, gunsight, prop and then I'll pop the guns and ammo cans in the bay.

You're still making me laugh with the idea of going in to work, to make further progress on your models (LMAO)! But then, I'm in a particularly good mood right now, as I just succeeded in BUILDING A MODEL IN ONE DAY!

I had to resort to a sub - it's the (at least fairly) ancient Heller 1/400 LeRedoubtable:

But the build isn't at all what you (probably) think. (Hint: It has a focus on current events...)

It still needs some minor, spare decals (which technically don't "count", anyway) - and I'll post a bunch of pics (of course), tomorrow.

This makes two models - definitely - completed for 2010, with Boxer also pounding hard for the finish, before New Year's, too! (And I don't even have a "pod" to work in - other than the fact my whole apartment is little more than that!

)
