This is definitely another one I want to see more of, once fully completed. And Kevin, what can you tell us about "AKI" - sounds Japanese - I've never heard of them before.
Meantime, I should make a note to send you a Matty's Models40mm or two - even though in 1/550 scale - to see how well it looks next to the ones you're using on this 1/700 build. (Because I'm beginnning to suspect most 700-scale guns are overscale - in which case I could easily provide something(s) better, in that market - and even the ones I have now might already be preferrable, in every respect.)
Excellent submission to ModelFleet, Kevin - again, one I'll be happy to post to our Gallery, when completed, buddy!
Cheers,
-Matty
Thanks Matt!

AKI is Japanese - it is short for Aki Seisakusho - a company that has specialized in casting for other companies like Hi-Mold, but has now branched out into doing their own subjects too. the 40mm's on this kit are the finest I have ever seen done in resin in 1/700 scale. The small resin parts are on a small sprue/casting gate for this kit - they are of amazing quality and detail - I'll try to send you a closeup. The 20mm's are nice too - but a little large for the scale I think. Brass would have probably been a better choice for these....
By All Means - please do, buddy!

I would definitely love to see a closeup(s) of these 40mm parts - especially if they are the best you've seen, Kevin! In the pics so far, I haven't been able to see what you're seeing. So, by all means please do send me (at least) one, photographed (if you can) on a ruler, or a penny - some clear (and measurable) reference for scale.
And Matty's Models will see what's the very best I could do to meet- or beat 'em, for detail!
