Seriously though, great build of 'Zona 12/7/41, Donny. (Note also: full hull, a la Uncle Matty's favorite preference, too!)
But. to me your paint color looks more gray than blue! ( We better check the paint-stocks records throughout your "Theater of Operations", over there!
) Again - seriously - what is "ModelMaster PRU blue" - is that some sort of Prussian Blue, or what Testors paint number is on it? In any case, I do like the color - a very nice, darker-type blue-gray (much like what I was aiming for on my as-sunk Lexington CV-2 build).
Also great reviews of the Dragon kits - good stuff to know - as well as the Toms ModelWorks PE.
And very nice, quick-build of the as-built Arizona, too! One niggling point though: you shouldn't have any wake around the hull, with that foredeck awning still deployed - I don't think they would ever keep that up while underway, lest the first gust of wind (much less waves) over the bow instantly rip it to shreds, if not clean off. (You could tell people that she's still moored - but that the current was just really ripping past the quay! )
All (inadequate) humor aside, GREAT submissions, on Pearl Harbor Day, 2010, Don!
Cheers,
-Matty
