Another sink-line runs to port, suitable for a nice lineup of FJ-3/4's, F8U's, A4D's or other, smaller fixed-wing aircraft. The most challenging - and usually the 2nd-deepest - sink-line runs diagonally across most of the flight deck, and can be especially noticeable on the bow. However this is exactly the area (forward of the No.1 elevator) where the Matty's Models flight deck replacement/extension will about completely eliminate it! Note on the master where (repeatedly) the raised number "9" was scratched out: it was molded from a boneyard flight deck from the original USS Essex mold - a very good pop, wherein the sink-mark trenches were all but nonexistent. I am pretty sure it was due to a more suitable grade of plastic - perhaps more suitable plasticizers, or (who knows) perhaps even different "flavors" of the base petroleum - in use back then. In any case, I will also attempt to fill in what subtle remnants of sink-lines may persist in my master(s).
And I also couldn't agree more with your idea of getting extra planes from Matt Stein Models, Mikey!
