Dave Wells sends in materials from A.A. Chernyshev's Russian-language monograph
"Stalin's Favorite: The Project 69 battlecruiser 'Kronstadt'", describing in detail the development of these Stalin-era battlecruisers, which were never completed. The translation is difficult to understand - reading like something raw out of BabbleFish - and it gave me a headache

, so (for this and other reasons) I do not post it here. Not yet, anyway.
However Dave also sent the following sets of
plans: first, for the original Project 69, apparently designed for 30.5cm (12.4") guns, and the second for the "I"-variant, designed for 38cm (15.5") guns. Note they are clickable, to reveal the full-resolution drawings which Dave sent - a real find for the builder interested in modeling these impressive designs:
