Turning to the block bridge, the following shows what I am aiming for, and my progress toward getting there:

As you can see at lower right, I started work on the Airfix Ajax bridge by drilling open, on each side, the forward-most large rectangular shutter and long, narrow slit port aft; leaving wherever possible a tiny lip remaining from the original molding to greatly enhance definition of these cutouts.
However I decided that, along the upper edge of the aft slot I had shaved it too close and - given this assembly was still quite suitable for my Exeter build - re-allocated it to that build and started over, to do much better, using a new one:

This assembly progressed further to include the forward battle-conning ports (3), as well as the slightly protruding (and protective) "forehead" of the bridge, just above them. Though still very difficult to see, even from underneath (right), included with this addition were even its four, tiny triangular support braces; distributed in between the ports, underneath. This latter touch was probably more niggling, and tedious work than it was worth; we'll see if anything is even visible, once all is assembled and painted...
Currently - and by now greatly inspired by Rob Brown's excellent build, in progress - the upper wind deflector/splinter shield strip has been installed, complete with its own tiny support braces underneath, forward. I'll include a pic or two showing that with the next update.
Cheers,
-Matty
