Great pic. I'm proud to have a WW II vet as a close friend. He missed Normandy when his LST (Landing Ship-Tank) hit a bridge support after losing power on the Ohio River while heading to the Gulf for loading and transport to Europe. Other craft from his unit took very heavy losses. This is the first year since '46 that a ship's reunion hasn't been held. There's only three crew members left now and they're unable to travel anymore.
