I honestly thought both had made huge mistakes this year and would regret some bad desicions. Instead, both desicions seem to be brilliant.
I thought Jim had really done a dumb thing when benching Alex Smith for Colin Kaepernik (or however you spell it). Smith was playing very well when suffering a neck injury. But after being cleared to play, Jim decided to keep him on the bench. Well Colin looked awesome last night in his first play-off game.
Then John decided late in the season to fire O.C. Cam Cameron. This at a time when Baltimore, although struggling somewhat, was still number 3 seed as the season was winding down. But John sensed things were not right and made the desicion to fire his O.C. And then to replace him with Jim Caldwell seemed to make it even worse. Caldwell had never called plays before in the NFL. But, after a shaky first game, the Ravens have been on a roll offensivly.
It remains to be seen if one or both make it to the big dance, but both are in their respective Conference Championship games next weekend, and are looking like Einstien's of football this morning.
