It's a numbers game. I live in a state that is 'assured' to go one direction. The 'losing' party probably decided money spent here would be for naught, so is spending money in another closely contested state. The 'winning' party won't waste money either here. Therefore I've seen few signs for the Presidential election... up until this week. Broadcast ads are exclusively for hotly contested close races. If you were in Iowa or Ohio, you'd be singing a different tune.
They spend the money where they get the most bang for the buck, but not too much as they need it else were. besides, they only have to garner 51% of a state's vote. Because of this, the "Science of Elections", future elections are assured to be very, very close.
This is why I refuse to play along with the '"Science of Election." When they call to ask how I plan to vote, I just hang up. I'm part of the 6% they say are "undecided."
I'm decided all right. I just ain't tellin'.
