It's all election year theatricals. I think they are at once presenting a 'greater of two evils' with Newt, inoculating Romney for whatever mud the other side might sling. This means since the R's brought it up first, by the time the D's bring it up, it's old news and has less effect. That and at this point it is a one party race. Some politico once said, bad press is still press, it's better than nothing. And, there may be a lot of interest in the televised R convention.... if the network moguls deign to cover it.

The one thing that could come out of this is the Senator from Pennsylvania is not yet out of contention. I can see this feller becoming a major player in a couple weeks.
