I think the Colts depend on their qb more than any other team in the league. With Manning, the Colts are play-off bound. Without him..... they really seem to struggle.
Is Favre the answer? Hard to say. A lot would depend on how Favre would deal with a healthy Manning. I'm not sure Brett could handle the "back up" role.
Then again, let's say Manning has to sit out the first half of the season because of his neck. And under Favre, the Colts are 8 and 0. Now Manning is healthy and ready to play? As a coach, do you risk disrupting what your team is doing? Is Favre going to be willing to quietly go to the bench in such a senario? Do the Colts keep a $90 million dollar q.b. on the bench?
I know thats a lot of ifs, but it could sure cause some problems for the team that they may not want.
