Much improved performance all round

After a slow start, everything gelled.
How Richards spent so much time on the bench will remain a mystery.
Only one area, and I’m sure he will only get better Mendel needs to come out of himself and trust his instinct. A couple of times I thought he had better options than the one he chose.
When you think the players we have to come back, Kodua, Morris and Luker.
Win at Peterborough and take at least a point at Huddersfield and the season will look very different.
Agreed. And we also have Odoffin and Ashby to come back. Defence still looked a bit sloppy, completely went awol at one point last night. Away form needs to improve hopefully starting on Saturday.
Can’t understand the Richards thing either - clearly one of our best players.
Something is definitely starting to click and playing two up top last night was brave and different. Shame Wells go injured because him and Marshall worked well together.
It just goes to show what confidence does to a side. Some of our football was electric.
Mendel will be a decent player in the future but but he still.looks very raw. I would like to see how he performs on the left and likewise, Lawrence on the right. This inverted winger tactic does my head in at times.
Yes, but you can switch it up at times. Last night Mendel gets a golden opportunity to go one on one with the keeper but hesitates because he is on his wrong foot.
Lawrence is showing the confidence to beat his full-back down the line and get some decent crosses in with his weaker foot. Think what he could do on his stronger foot.
Marshall looks the type of striker that will thrive on balls whipped in from the dead-ball line.
I remember the chance you're talking about. I think with inverted wingers they either need to be confident enough on their weeker foot, like Lawrence seems to be, or quick/skillful enough to get the yard of space to use their stronger foot. I'm not sure Mendel is either yet but that could just be confidence.
There was another time he got the ball in their half with loads of space. Everyone encouraging him to run at the full back but he turned passed it back to Shea???
It'll be based around the lack of a target man, so only a 'Pep thing' until recent years, whereupon he buys Haaland and no full-back's got a clue whether to show inside or outside.
He is pretty good at this shit, tbf. Absolutely one day, I'd love him to turn up at a shit League One or Two side and actually show that he's got the chops to do it there.
