Caveat that, while Berry is from Luton and superbly once read out the teams as Stephen Toast in the National League years, he’s not really a football fan and follows Man Utd if anyone.
        Great shout on Downie, mind.

Matt Berry isn’t from Luton, he’s from Bromham. Someone I work with saw the actor Damien Lewis do a music gig at Bedford Esquires on Saturday and apparently he was talking on stage about being at the Leicester game and how great a result it was. Not sure if he is a full on Hatter though.

I had a (social media) chat with Downie. He said Berry did indeed support the Town, but, as you say, he's probably not a proper football man. Also, and I haven't checked, isn't Berry from Bedford?

I interviewed Berry for Loaded not long before his team sheet hilarity. You’re right that he’s not Luton, but obv we’re his local team.
He said he had a soft spot for us, but that he’s not really into football - had some kind of Man U family connection iirc that meant they were his team in as much as he has one, but that he’s naturally fond of us too because local team.
Berry did say Downie was the real Luton fan.
I suggested he should read the teams out like Toast one day. He laughed and I thought no more of it, but… If I DID play any part in that, it’s a career highlight.

I remember as a kid some guy who sat on FiFA , as head of the referees panel. The saying was refs normally have a good game because he assessed then.I do not have a clue what is name is.
