It's the funeral today of a much loved fan of my generation - and school, and pub.
Moby died suddenly a couple of weeks ago after the Stockport game, as many will know, and there will lots, fellow fans, friends and of course most of all his family saying their sad farewells and then celebrating his life.
And many more there in spirit.
Maybe we'll even get to know the mystery of his nickname, Moby? Always called that.
Wursty. Did you know? Found your message on here last night very moving.
Crumps, Hi, Yes Chris Lines told me and Anna contacted me. Was at funeral and just got back to Luton. Someone had to prop bar up. I will send you a private message with service copies,later. Need another pint. Last song played Keep on Rockin in the Free World. Only found out today that it was Moby who collapsed on platform.
J Block, need to speak to you.Grammar School…. We were all there.As you say the Moby name appeared in second year. I can’t remember why.
I knew him from junior school days and onwards. He must have got the nickname at LGS but I can't remember how that started. Thoughts are with his family today.
Didn't know him but recognised his face when it was announced, at least he saw us win that night.
A friend of a friend was on the platform that night and mentioned that the staff on duty were a disgrace, the fans present did everything they could to help, however the response of the staff left a lot to be desired.
