Is a bit like watching us. Loads of possession but run out of ideas in and around the penalty area avoiding shooting and trying to score the perfect goal, relying on a bit of luck, or an error in defence.

No offence but this sort of bollocks really grips my shit. It actually shows an impressive level of control to keep possession in the interest of creating an opportunity that has a very good chance of success rather than just pumping useless crosses or shots into the box that today's defenders will deal with with a cigar on.
I appreciate that it's not what many grew up with but they need to understand that alcoholic wingers can't just dance past the modern full-back three times before lobbing the fat bloke in goal rather than expecting the game to revert back thirty years. Or more.
Obviously, I do appreciate the unfortunate irony that quite a lot of the time our defenders have done passable impressions of their counterparts of yesteryear, in the process making third division journeymen look like legendary no. 7s who might have Miss World girlfriends.
But I find it reassuring that it goes equally for England as it does for Luton.
