    This whole “Sweet out” thing

Posted by Mr TUser icon on 22/9/2026, 19:13:54

Look of course we all want our team to be as good as possible, and as successful as possible, immediately. And anything that’s gets in the way of this is just unacceptable.

But in the bigger scheme of things my personal view is that Power Court absolutely MUST take priority. It is an investment which will literally provide or, at least, facilitate, lifelong joy and pleasure to several generations of future Hatter’s.

Now of course ANY CEO of the club, and I, am sure Gary is no different, would try to balance the needs of the team today with the stadium investment needs, but be in no doubt which MUST take priority.

A failure to achieve promotion this season will piss us all off, of course. But if that happens then we will all get to early Aug 27 and, if the sun is shining and the manager speaks sense and we have some (apparently) decent signings then, sure as eggs-is-eggs, we will still turn up and sing for our team.

After all despite the -30 points we stuck with it and the club came back “from the dead” better than we could have expected - eventually.

But a failure to complete the stadium will be simply unforgivable and the consequences will live for generations.

Sweet won’t go anywhere as long as Bannatyne is there.

This isn't a “Sweet out” post but I don't accept the binary premise here.

Of course Power Court is hugely important. But we've already spent enough on the squad for things not to have been as disastrous as they have been.

We had one of the bigger wage bills in the Championship when we went down. Power Court being the priority doesn't mean poor footballing decisions are inevitable or acceptable. And I'd also hope that spending another season in League One doesn't make financing the outstanding Power Court costs any harder.

There is not a cat in hells chance GS is going anywhere. Sure he carries a lot of responsibility for some dire transfer windows, but he also carries the role / credit for getting us up the leagues and amassing more club wealth we would have thought impossible 10 years ago. We are at a very important and delicate stage, with a new man in charge of PC, they will get some time now to finish the build and show us the future. If then that doesn’t look as good as it should GS should be moved on.

He is not exempt from the dreadful recruitment issues we had (still have). There has to be a better balance between being a football club and a property development company. In spite of PC we should still be a championship club. The buck stops with him as CEO. Having said that, I would always want to retain the 20:20 ownership we had when GS first took over. I’m not sure how we get back to that with a change, or indeed, without one.

I only care about issues around the team. I no longer mention my thoughts on the board etc because quite frankly i dont want to. I have mw own thoughs on the matter, but that is all they are. Im probably well off the mark with it all. You should only discuss these things if you know or have proof of what is going on. Whatever you think or say isnt going to change anything. Ive just learnt to calm down on these matters.

I just want to stick with the team and watch them play and hopefully get the right results. Then move into our new home.

‘I just want to go and watch my team play’. ‘Whatever you think or say isn’t going to change anything’. Respectfully, that’s a load of wet guff.

If we all held the aforementioned principles, we’d be watching us play as the MK hatters at the soulless dome every week!

Thats all I want to do, i dont expect everyone else to do so. Have no wish to get into arguments anymore regarding the situation anymore. I have my thoughts and whether they are right or wrong I have learnt to keep them to myself.

Sensible post. If more people kept their gobs shut on issues they know little about then the world would probably be a much better place.
