Different type of supporter base these days. The lads that used to stand on the Oak Road and Maple terraces are 55+ and haven’t been replaced. I don’t see so many groups of younger lads at games when I’m over, instead mostly families or older fans. That might have to do with the town itself which has changed enormously since the 80s. Are young men from Luton interested in going to games? KR is already full most weeks so any initiative to bring in fans of this age group might be difficult. Could change when we move to Power Court with its increased capacity.
Also we need somewhere in the ground for the singers to stand. The Oak Road is split forcing our fans into different areas and while some try it does really work. Too late to change it now but one for the board. Football without an atmosphere takes away the enjoyment.

Tends to pick up once we start winning consistently.

Atmosphere, it’s up to everyone being bothered, but a lot of customers aren’t, they wait for atmosphere to be provided. Having said that, we do need a new catchy repetitive song to sing .

It’s always been relatively quiet in my opinion. Not sure where this whole legend about the Kenilworth Road atmosphere comes from.

It was great at Reading last week

The home atmosphere has been dying since we were relegated out of the Prem. It would have been remained good if we'd made a fight out of promotion the next season instead of the shower of shit we witnessed. The C'ship years with Jones and then Edwards taking us up were brilliant most weeks

A double relegation knocked the stuffing out of the home crowd and the failure of last season has probably deflated things even more

I said last summer that this is going to be like the conference years in some ways. Fans thinking we shouldn't be at this level and going in expectant, waiting for the team to do something. And when it doesn't - because we always start home games too slowly - the atmosphere goes very flat, very quickly. Last season (aside from the last month) was the worst for atmosphere since some of the poorer conference seasons and the Lennie Lawrence days. I like Wilshere but I think he needs to adapt at home and go a bit more direct in the first 15 minutes of home games to unsettle the opposition and get the crowd going

The club needs to make sure those who want to make some noise are all put together in PC. If we're still in L1 (or worse) when we move, there's a real danger it's going to be like a morgue if we ain't doing very well

Well if people are getting told off by stewards for shouting it's not a suprise

Football in a nutshell in 2026.

My observation from the Bobbers is that too many are more interested in how Manchester United are doing OR spending 30 minutes of game time drinking in the bar.

Of course revenue from said beverages is useful “funding” but it doesn’t do anything for the atmosphere where they are loads of empty seats.

Maybe if we are more aggressive in the first 20 minutes of home games fans wouldn’t seek solace in scores elsewhere or the bottom of a glass.

That said Lawrence may as well spend the first half in the bars too if he isn’t going to be given the ball…..
