What’s happened/gone wrong? Hasn’t looked interested very often since the PL season IMO. Was in America doing some training camps with Anthony Elanga and a few others during the World Cup, so assumed he was fit. But Jack doesn’t want him, (and doesn’t fancy a few others aswell), and I trust Jack to be a decent judge of character after his career. Some fall from grace from being one of our better players in the PL, to not getting a sniff in league one this season.

Every game, even in the PL, I wondered how long it would be before he gave away a penalty. Every set piece towards our box he turned into a wrestling match.

Yes, in particular that came to mind. But he seemed to do it every time and he, like many other players, got away with it most of the time, its a very risky tactic, especially with VAR.

Even with VAR, the law was inconsistently applied.
I think that we would have gone two points clear of Forest if we had won that game so something had to be done to stop us winning.

Has the potential to be a quality player. IMO he's still the best defender we have. On his day. I get why we stuck with most of our PL players after relegation. On paper, we should have been up there in the championship. However, alot had had a taste of the big money, thought they deserved to be in the elite of the PL still and that wasn't managed well at all. Mengi is a shining example of that. The move to Torino didn't happen. And regardless of injuries, his heart clearly wasn't in it.
A real shame. But if Jack doesn't want him, that'll do for me.
