    Fixture CARNAGE in full

Posted by EarlsUser icon on 11/8/2026, 19:29:51

Chelsea v Luton - Thursday Aug 27 (from my birthday on Aug 25)
Mansfield v Luton - Sunday Aug 30 (from Saturday Aug 29)
Luton v Stockport - Wednesday Sept 2 (from Tue Sept 1)
All this to avoid Fulham v Chelsea going back a day.

All unnecessary as Chelsea will play a completely different 11 on thursday to those that play on the Monday

I don't know why Sky scheduled a prem game for the TV on the Monday, knowing that it was League Cup week

I know saturation coverage of football is the only thing Sky Sports really have now but why couldn't Fulham - Chelsea have played on TV at 8pm on the evening of Saturday 22nd?

Is the answer “Because they’re clots”? That’s the answer to 90% of current football’s woes.

              It's the only possible answer

In fairness it might be argued that -

                a) sack work off on Thursday lunchtime, head down to Covent Garden for afternoon on the lash. Football laters.

                b) sack work off on Friday morning too so lay in. Weather stays at is (bravo global warming), meet your mates and chums as they all trickle in, you’ve already got the best seat in the biergarten.

                c) easy Saturday, look at the other scores and maybe reflect and think again about how much debt is being run up and a certain CEO’s remuneration.

                d) if you don’t go to Mansfield on the Sunday then maybe spend the afternoon in the biergarten anyway.

As for Stockport, well you’ve a few days to recover…

‘No to modern football’ obviously but don’t shoot the messenger. Out of every negative there must surely be a positive….

For the record, I’m a contractor. I can pick and choose.

Also, there were 7 games they could’ve put on the Monday as at least 1 side is in Europe and so not in the league cup 2nd round. But no, they chose one of the three games that would cause this issue.
