    Wilshere on Benagr

Benagr might yet go out on loan (for reasons that make sense.)

Not giving our own youth a chance has been a constant theme from Luton for a number of years, if you don't them you wont make them. A lot of other clubs are able to it frustrates me that we cannot.

Frustrating to see another youth talent possibly not ready to make the jump into the first team but I feel a good level of trust in JW to make the best decision on him.

Agree. Gotta trust wilshere's judgement but it has to be said that our academy has been producing very little for years now. Nothing of note since Justin

Not writing the lad Benagr off. More of a general comment

This is underlined by the frustration of not giving him a game time on Sunday. Yes I know he played the day before but ten minutes would have been good.

The fact that we are looking elsewhere when we have a naturally left footed player with pace to burn is questionable.

Having let Alli, Bramhall and Archer go surely it makes more sense to have cover there anyway even if we did sign Lawrence?

Bengr for me as he is properly left footed and goes past people should be guaranteed an opportunity.

Odd to have any doubt over this unless we are bringing in two extra left sided players.

Or perhaps our final shape is still undecided???

With our injury record it would be a no brainer but to keep and use Benny in the cup competitions at the very least.

Alli had pace to burn and we've seen him go past people.

We've seen him be quite awful too.

It's not that simple and like I said, I trust JW to get more right than he gets wrong on this kind of decision.

Couldn't agree more and also with Earls comments earlier in the same vein.

Paula Radcliffe is fast but you wouldn't want her playing on the wing for us.

Cue comments about stopping for a crap.

I hear you, but Wilshere had a good record in youth coaching before coming here.
If he feels Benagr would be better guaranteed L2 football for a season/half a season rather than only being used on the fringes, fair enough - I trust his judgement on youth players.
And it’s far from a done deal that Benagr is going on loan anyway.

Did he ? Thought it was about 10 minutes…
Having said that after being very doubtful about JW ( wanted some experience) I am starting to believe. I think we are stronger than last year with Marshall and we were very decent last 10/12 games.

Benagr is only 18 though, three years younger than Luker

Luker is staying, he has worked incredibly hard and really pleased that he is going to get an opportunity when all his former team mates are playing for Braintree, Real Bedford and Hitchin!

Or perhaps a loan to Borehamwood…..?
