    Nordas in demand

Posted by radlexUser icon on 3/8/2026, 09:57:40

    From The Guardian today:
And the Luton forward Lasse Nordås has rejected a number of offers from abroad because he is eager to stay in England. He’s turned down moves to Rakow Czestochowa, Heerenveen, Samsunspor and two clubs in Scandinavia.

I'm in the camp that would like to give him another go. But equally I won't be devastated if he leaves.

Don’t feel too sorry for him. He’s going to end up leaving below his market value because he’s turned down several moves elsewhere.

So much for him being unsettled in England, then. Good luck to him, he’ll do a decent job somewhere in L1.

I was told that the backroom staff couldn't believe how bad he was in the air for someone so tall. Basically he struggled just to get off the ground.

Not sure what else he offers if he can use his height or physicality.

Noticed that in his very first game.

Paul Walsh was more of an aerial threat back in the day …..

Which is fair enough, of course. Not saying we’re giving away the next Haaland. But, when he has played, Nordas looked to have *something* to offer.
No real argument to selling him on, it obviously hasn’t worked out. But the claim that Nordas was unsettled in England - not that the club have ever said that, tbf- seems to be nonsense.
And none of the issues seem to be down to attitude, so good luck to Nordas, wherever he goes next.

In his interview, when he first joined, he seemed to like it over here. in particular that his Amazon deliveries turned up the next day, and he was close to London.

Yeah, I think his attitude is good but he's simply not good enough at this level.

Tbh our overseas recruitment has been shocking over the last couple of years.

Well, that’s certainly true. In fairness, Makosso was good enough at the level above, I guess, but the attitude problem there was next level.
But yeah, nobody has worked out from overseas at all for ages, really, which is actually a feat in itself.

We signed Ross Barkley from Nice, that's overseas

I suspect he will do okay for himself.

Our management don't seem to rate him but I am sure he will find a place for himself.

Can't help but think we didn't give him the chances his performances indicated he potentially could be worth to us.

Fanne, Hashioka and Makosso sold for profit and no doubt with potential future add ons.

Couple of Grrman / Dutch loans.

May get money back on Nordass

We may have made a few quid profit on transfers but the recruitment shambles has cost us a fortune over the last couple of years.

I have no idea who we have in place for overseas recruitment but he/she have failed hugely

                            Why is cole favoured

                            Seems odd.

                            Was cole Jack's choice?

Nordas and even Yates have better goals rates for us.

Nordas does appear to have sone ability and is tricky.

The fact he turns down moves shows hes wanting to push on in the UK. Is he really not good enough?

Surely cole is settled now, his touch is not great and his ability to craft goals seems non existent.

We will seek fees for both but they may well stay in league 1 by the sound of it and go cheap. And of course would score against us

I think JW told him repeatedly that he was "too nice" and that he needed to use his physical attributes more. He never domonstrated that he took this advice on.

I think he was bullied. Cole better with his physicality. Needs a goal. Good luck to Nordas byt i think he had a chance and didnt grow into the role

I think Jack is not a fan of Nordas, he likes a forward that presses from the front and nordas is not mobile enough.I watched a lot of him and his build up play is good but when we get the ball out wide in play he is involved in he never seems to be busting a gut to get into the box.

If he is not in Jack's plans then the club needs to force his exit asap as he is blocking recruitment of another striker which we desperately need. Same with Yates.

Interestingly Yates (4) & Nordas (3) were top scorers for Luton in the Vertu trophy last season - say what you want about the quality of the competition/opposition but they do know where the back of the net is, albeit at a lower level. I don't think either Yates or Nordas (or Cole) are at the level we need for a promotion challenge in League 1 this season

Wells also scored 3 & Callum Marshall had scored 3 for West Ham U21s too
