If JW is so quick to criticise the Dutch league post match….
A few comments perhaps in hindsight some will reconsider.
Cole over Nordas looks increasingly short sighted.

Maybe by him saying “that’s just the Dutch league” he meant Nordas’ skillset is better suited to the Dutch league than league one. I’m sure he wasn’t suggesting it’s a worse standard than league one.
And maybe you shouldn’t read into every single sentence ever uttered by someone and judge them by that for all of eternity…… It’s not as if you haven’t on occasion said something that’s not worked out too well.

To be honest, neither Nordas or Cole are good enough to be in a promotion seeking League One squad.
Nordas is probably easier to move on as he is younger.

At the Meet The Manager event in April, Wilshere was a bit “Yeah, but that’s the Dutch league” when questioned about Nordas’ good start there. (As I’ve said before, it was the one odd moment when Wilshere was very impressive otherwise on the night.) But, as you say, losing today isn’t going to suddenly mean Nordas is going to play for us after all.

Also thought we were the better team. They had three shots and one on target. On another day we could’ve won or drawn. Their players overturned the penalty decision and the guy should’ve got a red card when he fouled Cole when he was clean through

Kodua might lose his place if we can bring someone in, but otherwise he may find his best form again playing alongside his old friend. I'd say that he and the full backs are the most at-risk in that lineup.
Richards will play in the middle in the medium- to long-term, but at the moment who are you dropping for him in there? Or are you suggesting that we change the system?

I challenge anyone to find any criticism by me for months.
However today we reverted to the approach that ultimately cost us promotion.
The game was crying out for Benagr and Luker.
Cole isn’t good enough and Kodua is NOT a left winger.
After the positivity of last week just disappointing.

Kodua has played there for most of the friendlies. Tbh they are a step above any opponents we will be playing this season. It was a good run out, but it looked like a few players didn’t want to get injured to me

Show we need that obv left sided player and kads fighting for a different position. Also the difference in teams between Hitchin and Walsall, perhaps another stronger team would have been useful.

It was a decent team, but the opposition today were stronger than anything else we have faced. Looked a decent Championship standard. In Spain, Benagar did look sting slightly surprised he didn't get some minutes.

Benagr played 76 minutes yesterday. Shea, Fox and Luker all played the full game. Cole didn't play and Gawel only played the last six minutes.
I haven't read or seen anything but I assume that the plan was always to play Marshall and Cole for 45 each. Gawel was just given a "taster" of playing in front of (possibly) the biggest crowd of his career. Kodua took a bit of a knock so it made sense to replace him for the last few minutes. Gawel was "a little overenthusiastic" early on but will learn from the experience. My guess is that there was no intention to use the other subs unless necessary.
As for "a decent championship standard", I don't know much about the standard of Dutch football but they won the Dutch Cup in 2024/25 and lost 2-1 to PSV in the Johan Cruyff Shield (their equivalent to our Community Shield). Last season, they beat eventual champions Aston Villa in the Europa League. Based on that, I would put them at more like lower Premier League standard.
