Apparently it's to do with the snout. One is slightly more pointed, the other more rounded, although I can't remember which way round.Live justly, love mercy, perpetuate generosity, walk humbly.
The other way around. Alligators have a rounder snout. Also, alligators only have their upper teeth showing when their mouths are closed while the teeth of a croc look more like a zipper. And crocs are more aggressive.
