Bravo yes, but i can't help thinking its slightly hypocritical inasmuch as kit deals, sponsorships, even venues/hosts for European competitions both domestic and international are swayed by commercial interests. Nike, for example, as part of their kit deals already determine who they will play in pre-season friendlies to maximise exposure and sales potential.

Whilst I agree in general, I can't help feeling sorry for the smaller nations who would have loved the mighty dollar. Probably resentful of the big nations. Bit like being a smaller club under the umbrella of the FA and being treated differently from 6 to 10 other teams..
