Didn't realise till much later that Julian James was a Watford fan, as was Sean Farrell. Didn't rate either. Leon Barnett is also not of the calibre of player on these lists.The truth is simple. If it was complicated, everyone would understand it.

Isted was okay but doesn’t deserve to be mentioned alongside Davis, he was a top keeper for us and thoughout his long career. Also I think Isted went through the Stoke youth system.

Just been reading the newspaper clippings on Hatters Heritage from the match and can't see any reference to Howard playing centre back or Warnock's quote about Howard and a cigar.
Would have thought the Luton based papers may have mentioned it.
I thought it was Utd, back end of 2005/6 season and have a memory of Warnock making a comment about him playing there as though he was holding a cigar?
He did. He also played RCB on occasion, especially early on, where he was decent. Best position was RB for my money. Which Barnett was absolutely not.

My brother would have been, but during a trial for the youth team he tripped over a clump of grass, and landed with his mouth on Bruce Rioch's boot. Blood injury, trial stopped.
