Re: Top 10 best youngsters to have broken through to the first team
I played in the same Luton Youth team as Andy when Pleat was the youth team coach. It was obvious that he was the only one who looked certain to make it. The only other one who the rest of us thought was good enough was a central defender called Giotano Castiella (phonetic spelling there) - I often wonder what became of him…
Re: Top 10 best youngsters to have broken through to the first team
Mr Clark was Mitchell Thomas' PE teacher at Lea Manor High School. He used to enjoy telling us that. He was incredibly strict, proper old school. I remember one time we spent the whole lesson getting changed into our PE kits and then back into school uniform because every time he came into the changing rooms someone was talking and we were supposed to be getting changed in silence. From uniform to PE kit to uniform to PE kit. All lesson Mr Clark also arranged legendary school trips to Spain and had a stall on Purley market selling sports gear. And he absolutely bollocked me once for graffiti. But he was fair. A good bloke. Bravo Mr Clark.outlaws is not the barometer of sanity. You're either Luton full tilt or you are nothing. I also met Mitchell's brother Denzil once walking along Bramingham Road. He was a gentle giant with me but I know he had a reputation on Marsh Farm. There were loads of protective kids on Marsh Farm who had bad reputations but were actually very sound in other ways.outlaws is not the barometer of sanity.
