Fair enough - I didn't watch it but every report that I have seen said that he was given a red card.
From what I have seen in reports and videos, several Argentinian players should have been given retrospective red cards even if they weren't shown at the time.
This is the opposite of what happened in the England v Argentina game in 1966. Jack Charlton was booked but nobody realised at the time. Charlton only found out about it when he read in the paper the following day that he had been booked.
Ken Aston, the head of referees for the tournament was also initially unaware of the booking. After finding out about it, he was stopped at traffic lights when he came up with the idea of red and yellow cards.
After what they did against England AND Spain, I think it would only be fair if about half the Argentinian team (and particularly Simone) were suspended for the whole of the next season.
Fifa should of given any player involved in the flag a yellow card, so anyone on one yellow would of missed the final. Correct punishment for a rule infringement. The players fighting should get a couple of months suspension and also 6 country match bans. Doing something like that on a showcase match should be treated harshly. Expect FIFA will brush it under the carpet.
Mind your head, this carpet seems a bit high up to me.outlaws is not the barometer of sanity. You're either Luton full tilt or you are nothing. We have spunked way too much money on shite. The end.
