Yes, it didn't look great is many ways but they found a way and they gave everything.
To be fair, he did get headbutted in the head. The ref's supposed to stop the game which would have benefitted us. Not sure what else you want him to do in that situation.
No doubt about it, he is a good striker but for someone of his size he whinges a lot. Always holding his head or another part of his body and shouting ref.
There was nothing special about tonight's performance and things need to improve quick. They scraped through again but let's hope things improve next time round because if Argentina win tonight, they wont mess around with England.

Argentina have also scraped through the last 2 rounds and against significantly inferior opposition to that which England have faced. How come when they do it, it's great, but when we do it, it ain't?
Apart from Messi, Argentina are nothing to be afraid of. And he is knocking on a bit now.
MC, I had England down as serious contenders before due to the way they qualified but I think they have struggled. You are correct, plus the fact that Argentina seemed to be a bit of a slippery result against Egypt.IMO they shouldn't even be playing tonight.
There is more to Argentina than Messi IMO. They have a few dangerous players other than him. I think its more the consistency of teams. France have stood out from day one, and if England were to face them in the final they would need to be at the top of their game.

Not many teams would have beaten Mexico in the Azteca. France maybe. Spain possibly. I think Croatia and Mexico were really good performances for different reasons. Panama was easy. Ghana was disappointing and tonight was a real chore but that's cup football
France are the best team in the tournament but you referred to Argentina and that they won't mess about with us. They are nothing to be scared of. If we get to the Final, yes, we will have to up it against Spain or France
