    Mate of mine has just sent me a pic of an ex Luton player who I struggled to guess the name of but eventually got there.
    He is on holiday in Cavtat and got served by him…seems so wrong that a player of his quality is now a waiter when you see some bang average players these days who have made it by 25.
    I am sure Outsider will guess it quicker than I did….

          Got in taxi in Southport about 10’yrs ago. Taxi driver was Andy Mutch the ex Swindon and wolves striker (Steve bull partner)

                Jimmy Husband became the landlord of the Stone Jug in Clophill and also had a spell as a courier.

                Tony Read ran the Old Bell at Greenfield and was a second hand car dealer in Park Street, Luton.

                Peter Phillips became a partner in MacIntyre Hudson, Chartered Accountants. I worked with him for a while in their Bedford office.

                Scott Houghton became a policeman in Cambridgeshire. Tim Allpress also became a copper in London. He worked with Winston Silcott and appeared in a TV documentary about the Broadwater Farm riots.

                James Ayres runs a carpet and flooring shop in Luton.

                    One of 3 pubs in the village and now there’s none,the population was probably half of what it is today .

                      Warren Neill, who was Mick Harford's assistant manager, was a black cab driver. He also scored the winner for Luton in 1-0 victories at Kenilworth Road in consecutive seasons despite being a QPR player at the time.

                      Of course, everyone knows what happened to Wally Shanks and Gordon Turner.

                      A bloke who used to post on here (regular in The Brickies) had his picture taken with him in said restaurant a couple of years back. Pretty sure that picture was posted up on here shortly afterwards.

                        Yep well done both. If he does own the restaurant he didn’t own up to that as said he works there but guess he might just being understated.
                        Mate said he is a really lovely bloke and only 51 ? Seems a life time ago he was playing for us.

                            My son was there last week. He had a lovely evening and Ahmet spent a lot of time with him and his wife and he bought them both a drink. He told my son he managed the restaurant.

                                Used to buy my Subbuteo teams from Shanks and Turner in Bury Park as a schoolkid in the 60s. Alwyn McGuffie had a toy shop in Leagrave around the same time. Got my mum to go in and get his autograph as I was too shy.

                                  I used to buy my Footie stickers from the Brown Owl every week in the 80s. Loved the guy so much and he always had time to talk about his career. I actually have a framed set of 1980s football sticker packs surrounding a signed photo of Wally in his Luton kit.
