You just don’t have as many world class players around like you did in 80,90,00’s whichever nation.
People would fear playing Germany, even when they were sh!t they would find a way of winning. Heard they did better than last two WC’s and got out the group!

Nor sure it's a lack of world class players. More that your 'average standard' players are now far better than they were a couple of decades ago. The PL is an example of that. The likes of Brighton and Palace now competing on a near level par as the likes of Arsenal and City etc. Football is changing. The years of Italy, Germany, Holland, being the top countries are long gone. Even Brazil are far from outstanding now.

That's a good point. There are a definite lack of 'flair' players now. Football has become over tactical and for the most part, quite dull.

1st rule in football now is, take no risks, possession is everything, ball going back more than forward. Defenders and Keepers are on the ball more now than any other player on the pitch. I want to see end to end, going at defenders at pace, sadly that's not how football is now.
