It was, but to be currently only 84 runs behind with 2 wickets remaining, is a good position after NZ were 317 for 0 in their 1st innings.

I think that lead is still substantial but if they can restrict NZ to a 325 lead I’d still give England a slight chance.

Yes, to be fair to England our batsmen had to contend with some really difficult deliveries.

Looks like that is going to be true for the rest of the match possibly the way we have started.
