The best thing about the world cup

Is the long drawn out death of the Jocks !!!
They had hope after the Brazil game , but as each group play out their final games, their chances ebb away very, very slowly.
They are just clinging on by their finger nails, but slowly slipping away.
I wasnt a fan of the extra teams and the best 3rd placed teams going through, but to be honest, now I am loving it !!

I think most deep down know a scrappy win versus Haiti would not be enough. 1 goal in 3 games and the calamity goals let in.

Apart from the very worst teams like Scotland I'd say the worst thing is that there is so little jeopardy in the group stages. I guess it gives more nations the chance to experience it but to me the tournament starts next week. Not even sure if I will watch England or not against Panama.

Don’t get me wrong , I don’t agree with the extended format
I am just enjoying the Jocks suffering the torture of the long drawn out elimination

The way they and the media celebrated after they won the first game I haven't watched anymore because I thought they'd won it... must have been mistaken might put it on tonight then

Whilst I agree the team has been awful, the fans have treated the event as a party. Is that a bad thing ? Also, they have no control over the media.
Which ironically, (The English media) is the very reason even people with no interest in sports like to see England lose.

For me the absolute stitch up and total inevitability of Scottish football means I have zero time for anything to do with Scottish football.

The best things to happen to English football over the last decade were Leicester winning the Premier League and our journey back to top flight football.

It would have been good for Scottish football for Hearts or Rangers to have won the league last season but for Celtic to have had an awful season and still won the league speaks volumes.

Moreover the aggression and hate shown towards Hearts from Celtic fans was appalling, just that they “dared” challenge.

Total entitlement, regardless of the religious aspects.

So they can do one as a country until they work together to create a balance and competitive league.

Cape Verde alone makes increasing the number of games worthwhile. I wish the kick-off times were easier, but watching the chaotic last half-hour of Egypt v Iran almost made too hot to sleep bearable at 5.15 this morning.
