Is this good or bad news for us?

Hull are saying as they are now a Premier League club they can ask for more money for transfers. If we do try to sign Kasey Palmer, how much do you think we would be willing to pay before we were over budget?

Whether it's good or bad, it's not actually news. I was sent several messages about it a week last Monday and "Trevor" posted about it on here the same day.

Wouldn't it be news if they said no problems lads, now we're Prem we're minted, take whomever you want and we'll sling in £5m as well?

But they'll have still overspent in that case, so wouldn't help them.

What I mean is that it's hardly news that they're saying that they don't need to give players away.

The old F365, Mediawatch, staple being that if the opposite would actually be newsworthy then it's merely a poo-free Sherlock scenario.

But they are desperate to close deals in 2 weeks and need £6m from 3 or 4 players. I think this is doable.

The fact they need to offload in the next couple of weeks makes it's a buyers market (i.e. they can't afford to hold out for premium fees). There will probably be a few more vultures circling for a bargain though.

Hopefully our relationship with KP and the fact his family live locally will help.

Yes but it is the fees that are important to them rather than shifting the players for wage reductions.

In short, we are unlikely to get him on the cheap unless they make another big sale.

I really hope we do get to sign him. He will bring that extra bit of stability to the team from last season. I have a much better feeling for this season, which isn't saying much considering we had hit rock bottom.

Apparently we hit rock bottom after Lincoln(a).
As much as I'd love for us to sign Palmer. It wouldn't surprise me if we couldn't afford to.
