    Starting XI next season

    Posted by oak_road_blue_jacket on 10/6/2026, 9:32:36

    GK: Keeley
    RB: *new signing needed*
    CB: Johnston
    CB: Odoffin
    LB: Johnson
    CDM: Walsh
    CAM: Clicker
CAM: Palmer (bring him home please)
    RW: Shady Mo
LW: *new signing needed* OR Jake Richards
    ST: Ali Al Hamadi?

Not 100% sure who would start as striker and likewise not sure about whether we are fully confident in Jake Richards at a LW as he seems to operate best in the centre.

    As for the bench:

Shea, Anderson, Mengi, Sandal, Kids, Archer, Wells

I feel like some attacking threat will be needed this summer......

ALSO, Hull need to sell £6m worth of players to get by the FFP rules, so hopefully Kasey comes back to us - fingers crossed

What about Cole and, dare I say it, Yates to provide the attacking threat? 😉

Alli could well be in the squad next season, to replace Bramall

Al Hamadi won’t be here he’s loan was up and Luton sent him to Ipswich thank god with his injury record .

Why would anyone put Richards on the wing?

Bloke needs to be central. He is one who can pick a pass.

Agreed Richards is quality, play him where he is strongest

outlaws is not the barometer of sanity. You're either Luton full tilt or you are nothing. We have spunked way too much money on shite. The end.

We paid £1 million for Kodua in January, and he was out best player for the first half of the season.
Why would you not have him anywhere near the squad?

I think that’s “Kids” on the bench. People using players’ nicknames is a bit icky for me, but I appreciate that’s just me, really,

Yes I meant Kodua on the bench, and I thought he was brilliant in his purple patch in December/January. I hope he can pick up that form again, and I'm happy for him to step up again into the starting XI of course.

Ha, I assumed that was kids, as in kids.

When he was coming off the bench towards the end of the season he'd started looking a lot more like his earlier season self. I think he'll be an important player this year (Although if we were able to get Lawrence back, I'd be delighted)

Yep, agreed on all that. Surprised there hasn’t been more clamour to get Lawrence back, though I guess City will either want a hefty fee or to loan him out to the Championship next.

Al-Hamadi definitely isn’t coming back, he’s said his goodbyes. I’d hope Garwel will start challenging for the bench, but we either need a fit Adebayo and/or a couple of new signings up front.

Sandal, I wonder if he can make the breakthrough properly. He should be fully ready when the season starts. Hopefully he can start to repay the investment in him.

Jake Richard will improve again this, has to start , issue is with Clark and Walsh hopefully Palmer , we would need to knock one of these off or play wide and he's not a wonder

Sandal will be competing also hopefully, saville ( is essential marginally better than Gary paddock of U remember him) I wouldn't get him near the first steam as although he's steady seems off pace.

Need Joe to progress and play also

Striker is the area of concern, who fits , who goes , who will replace if any

Jones need to find his place or move also

                            Re: Starting XI next season

Yes really hoping that this can be Richards' year to properly break through. He has good pros beside him so I suspect it should be a good environment for him now.

                            And yes I remember Waddock!

Yes, striker looks tricky, Wells is about the only one that has (eventually) lived up to his billing but we can't go into a season with him as primary striker.

Jones, if he can stay fit, I feel confident will come good.

                                Jones gonna light it up
