There woudl have been relegation clauses from prem to champ (but possibly still higher than we were paying before). I`m not sure we would have anticipated a second relegation
At the risk of provoking the usual dickhead, why would you go out of your way to write relegation wage clauses that were specific to a particular drop in level? Wouldn't you just write in promotion = x% increase, relegation = x% decrease.
Obviously, this is subject to negotiation, dependant on the timing of the contract but surely this would be a standard starting point.
